Great question! You're absolutely correct in that fillers are commonly used in the region of the cheek bones. However, fillers are also commonly utilized in the lower face and would certainly be helpful in achieving your goal. When it comes to filler in the region you described, I often tell patients my goal is to soften the shadows we see, while also avoiding adding too much volume which would look unnatural.
