I agree with Dr. Kaplan that Botox is a low risk, high reward treatment that is likely to improve the contour of the forehead between the eye brows. A cyst or lipoma tends to be a round, very well circumscribed area that can be moved between the fingers. Your single photo suggests that the issue results from muscle activity in that area and Botox is the first choice to soften that muscle movement.I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Hi Lisa. What you show in the picture is something called a glabella crease. This crease is the intersection of two muscle groups. When you flex or contract the muscles in this area (a frown), the action causes an indentation or crease over time. So, although you look relatively young, our first suggestion would be to relax those muscles with Dysport. This should solve the problem. If it does not, we would use a soft filler (only in situations where Dysport alone does not work completely) like Restylane to fill the crease. Below you will find pictures of a patient that had this procedure in our Orange, CA office.
The most common cause of lumps on the forehead are lipoma or fatty lumps and sebaceous cysts if you have not had injections of fillers or otherwise. There are other reasons which will have to be determined after examination and excision( if needed ) by a surgeon.
