this is a common finding in many patients (men as well as women). if the pockets of fat are small and isolated I would recommend Liposuction under local anesthesia. if there is accompanying skin laxity as well I would recommend mastopexy.
Liposuction is such a easy fix for those annoying fat bra rolls and can be done under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. Sincerely, David Hansen,MD
There are usually two options based upon skin laxity. One would be liposuction of that area. The other would be to remove that area, skin and fat alike. Find a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of liposuction procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
To remove the fat on the sides of your breasts, I would recommend liposuction to your axilla and possibly to your upper back area by the bra roll. ac
Fat rolls that outside of the actual breast mound are effectively treated by liposuction. They often extend into the back area as well. If the fat rolls are very large, they may require a combined liposuction and excisional approach.
If you have fat along the lateral chest wall or what is sometimes referred to as bra rolls, it may be amenable to liposuction. Best to be seen in person.
Without a photo, it is hard to give you more precise advice. However, there are two treatments for this condition. The first is performed using liposuction alone to remove the excess fatty tissue and then allow the skin to retract to a more contoured shape. Unfortunately, if the skin is not capable of retracting or the amount of tissue is too much to liposuction alone, then the skin and the tissue has to be excised. The incision though hides very well in the underarm area. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who based on your examination can develop the best treatment plan for you. Best of luck.
A photo would help. Sometimes liposuction works well, other times a direct excision particularly if there is appreciable amount of excess skin. All the best.
There are two causes of fatty areas beside the breasts. One is just excess fat. This is usually easily corrected with liposuction that is most frequently done under local anesthesia in the office. If there is significant excess skin that does not contract after the liposuction, you may need to have the excess skin resected using an incision in the axilla that hides very nicely. The other cause is the "tail of Spence" part of the breast. This is the extension of the breast into the axilla and can occasionally be quite full. If this is the cause, the only way to remove it is to resect it. This requires a full OR set-up. See a qualified plastic surgeon who has experience with all these options.
If your not sure of what 300 cc volume is, you can do a baggy test with the volume you want and you can get an idea of what it looks like.
There shouldn't be any bruising left but you may have some swelling, but you should be fine to go to the beach or poolside. Have a great vacation! ac
Over the years the number of incision sites have decreased without compromise of results. There is no absolute number of incisions that need to be made - just enough to give the best result which will vary from plastic surgeon to plastic surgeon. Incisions sites for liposuction are...
