What you're describing sounds like fat necrosis. This condition is associated with trauma, such as liposuction and although it is not common it can present many months after surgery. Symptoms can vary from minor discomfort to significant pain. The treatment varies, depending upon symptom severity. Most patients simply allow the body to continue healing since these areas will usually slowly resolve over time. Surgical excision is reserved for severe cases but carries its own risks such as scarring and contour deformities.
