I'm looking for some general guidance and would really appreciate professional input. I've had a recessed lower face for my entire life. Before I had a chin implant placed in 2019 (Implantech EAC-L), several doctors told me I might be a candidate for either a sliding genioplasty or jaw surgery. At the time, I chose the chin implant because it felt like the less intimidating option. While it did improve my chin projection, my lower face overall still looks quite recessed, especially in profile, which makes me wonder whether the issue goes beyond the chin itself. I also have an overbite (Class I occlusion) and some facial asymmetry, including a slightly slanted mouth and philtrum, although the crooked mouth bothers me less than the recessed lower face. I'm now trying to understand whether a sliding genioplasty would be enough, or whether jaw surgery would be a better option to address the underlying structure rather than just the appearance. For context, I've included a photo of myself from 2017 before the implant (wearing a green shirt), as well as a more recent photo (wearing a red-black sweater), to help show the difference. For someone in my situation, and with a budget of around $30k, which approach would you generally recommend, and why? I plan to consult surgeons in person, but I'd be very grateful for any general guidance.
