Hello, I saw someone recently that recommended eye filler. She recommended Belotero. Is this used for the under eye? She also said my eyes will be swollen for 2 weeks. Is this correct? Belotero or Restylane which is better for under eye? Thank you! I'm asking because I don't like how she did my cheeks (they are very uneven now after filler), but I already paid for everything.
Answer: Improving Under Eye / Tear Trough with Injectable Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) -- add Lasers, Microneedling/PRP Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Under eye filler Under eye filler should be about product selection as well as injector technique. In our practice, we use Versa with the best possible results. We have used Belotero and Restylane and Vollure, all of which have inferior longevity, unevenness, and less than satisfactory results compared to Versa. Most importantly, visit an experienced oculoplastic surgeon for tear trough injections since this is their anatomical expertise.

Answer: Be careful in choosing the provider Maria, I wish you all the luck in achieving the results you want, but would like to warn you that the eye area is one of the most complex areas of the face. The best would be to schedule a consultation with a board certified MD (dermatologist or plastic surgeon)! Sometimes, the eyes look sunken but the real problem is something else - cheeks or loss of volume of the midface, and correcting these areas may improve under eye appearance. In some cases, injectables are NOT THE BEST option and lid surgery is needed for best results. Presence of laxity and fat protruding must be accessed. That is why seeing an experienced provider is absolutely must, even if it may be more costly (your face deserves the best)! The is not right answer for the question you ask - both fillers can be used, both can cause swelling and swelling may last for weeks, even more than 2 weeks.

Answer: Eye rejuvenation with fillers Dear Maria, Eye rejuvenation with fillers is an advanced technique by a master injectionist. Many providers are starting to do theses treatments but don’t yet understand anatomy depth, the product uniquenesses or have developed the artistic eye of aesthetics. Saving a few dollars on something can cost you a lot more in the future to correct. Beletero is less hydrophilic than restylane so that means less swelling with Beletero. Both fillers last 4-6 months. Thicker longer lasting fillers are not recommended under the eyes because of the thinner more delicate skin. Best. DrBrecht Seattle, Wa

Answer: Filler for Under Eye Thia Ià why you need to be very careful when choosing an injector. Neither Belatero or Restylane are appropriate for the under eye. The only fillers I would use are Juvederm Voluma or Radiesse. These are placed deep on the bone or muscle and below the orbital ligament elevating the cheek and under eye to correct the problem. Unfortunately, about 90% of injectors still use the antiquated method of injecting a lighter filler superficially above the ligament (how we first started but no longer used by experts because it causes obstruction of the lymphatics and irregularities). When what you had wears off, see an expert.
