Is it possible to sustain eye damage during IPL Treatment?

I had an IPL yesterday. During the procedure my eyes hurt. I woke up this morning and the whites of my eyes are all bloody. Is this very serious? Should I go to an opthamologist?

Generally, a minimum of 3 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart yields optimal results.  It is important to understand that a maintenance IPL treatment once or twice a year after the initial series is recommended to maintain your original results. We use the Palomar Icon which is wonderful...

Great question! I allow my patients to shave in between IPL sessions. It is perfectly safe to do so!

Interesting question you pose. We hear this with IPL/BBL, and also after chemical peels and other treatments. While some treatments may give you minor scabbing and peeling, the absence of these things does not mean there was no benefit. You're more likely to get scabbing/peeling/coffeegrounds...
