It has been 5 weeks after my liposuction, and I have lost an inch and a half off my waist but understand I will have a reduction in swelling and have no problem waiting as long as it takes.. am extremely tired of wearing my compression garment. I also miss using my elliptical trainer. I would gladly prolong the swelling if I could exchange it for exercising and throwing away the garment. But I am concerned that the long term results will not be as favorable. Will not wearing a compression garment and exercising affect the long term results? Thanks in advance.

Answer: There is no evidence that compressive garments have any effect on the final outcome after liposuction.
