Was I ruined with Bellafill? In 2019 it was put on the zygomatic bone (Photos)

Question

in 2019 an aesthetic injector put bellafill on the zygomatic bone. As I am aging and losing volume in my upper cheek and my under eye muscles are starting to drop its super noticeable! I went to a plastic surgeon hoping to get volbella injected above/under to smooth it out and she said its not safe to inject anything where bellafill has been!! she said theres nothing she could do. I am sick with anxiety about it and know it will only get worse as I age.is there anything I can do, PLEASE help!

Keep in mind, it will take several months for results with Bellafill. However, if you're unhappy with your results, you can have filler placed in the same area. Implants or fat are alternatives. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

My regular followers are well aware that I have been cautioning against the use of permanent fillers of any kind, since permanent fillers can translate into persistent or permanent problems that may begin immediately following treatment or even five, ten or twenty+ years afterward. And I agree fully with the physician who advised against the use of any additional fillers (of any kind, including the safer and reversible HA fillers), since the physical act of injecting something into an area previously treated with a permanent filler may lead to even more distressing adverse reactions. For several years already I have been treating patients with gratifying results who have come to me with complications of permanent fillers they received elsewhere. I had one such patient in fact this morning coming to me from Boston with this exact issue. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist with experience in treating this complication. Hope this helps and best of luck.
