What can I do to treat permanent redness on my upper eyelids 1 year after blepharoplasty? (photo)

I had blepharoplasty done on my upper eyelids exactly one year ago. The scar has faded only it has left me with permanent redness. I’ve tried doing laser treatments but it’s not working. I’ve been very insecure of the way my eyelids look ever since i got them done, it’s still really noticeable even when i try to cover it up with makeup. Is there any other treatments that could work? Would a revision surgery help? If done by a professional this time.

many thanks for your email and photo. Some patients, especially those with fair skin react like this to surgery. I think that Laser may actually make things worse as it further irritates the skin, causing a period of hyperpigmentation.

Your best bet is to do nothing, wear covering make up with factor 50 and allow another 12 months of settling time and I'm sure things will improve. Sorry for your concern, but hang in there. Best wishes, Adam Goodwin.
