7 months post op and 18 weeks pregnant, feeling sharp pain - will this stop by my due date so that I can breast feed?

I had 595cc under the muscle silicone implants to my A/B cup boobs. My surgeon was great, I couldn’t have wished for a better result. As I chose to risk a larger implant, initially I couldn’t feel my nipples or the lower half of my breasts. Sensation is coming back but my nipples now feel sharp pain at anything more than a light touch. This is my 3rd child. I worry breastfeeding is going to be awfully painful. Is this just nerves regenerating? Will the pain have stopped by DD in December?

I understand your concern. However, it is not possible to tell if your symptoms will disappear on time. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Your breast are likely getting larger with pregnancy. This is certainly stretching the nerves supplying the nipples. Once you have expanded to you maximum size, the pain should subside. There is likely nothing stopping you from breast feeding as the apparatus of the breast tissue, ducts, etc is fully intact with a submuscular augmentation. It could be more sensitive to breast feed with your scenario.

There is no way to accurately predict if the sharp pain you are experiencing will settle by your due date, nor how sensitive breast feeding will be for you.  I encourage you to speak to your surgeon who may be able to offer some ways to help desensitize the area somewhat to make you more comfortable.

It is good that your sensation is returning, but how sensitive you will be, no one can say. Your very large implants have stretched your nerves considerably. Hopefully, they will calm down in spite of your hormones and potential increase in your own breast tissue.  Most women do not calm down during nursing.
