Thank you for your question. Botox injections are a good option for reducing the appearance of horizontal banding in the neck area. This can be combined with other treatment options such as microneedling to increase collagen production, restore skin elasticity, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Results from Botox last for approximately 3-4 months, while micro-needling results generally last much longer. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified injector who can suggest the best combination of treatments to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
Botox is used in the neck to treat platysmal bands, which are the vertical bands. Botox is not an effective treatment for horizontal bands nor does it tighten the skin. For these purposes you may want to explore Morphues8 treatments. If your concern is the platysmal bands, see an experienced injector near you to learn more about the treatment.
A combination of non-surgical options like Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, Ultherapy and Thermage would do well in combination for skin tightening for the neck. VASER Liposuction (with ThermiRF, Renuvion and InMode FaceTite) is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and can be combined with a neck lift at the same time, if you're a candidate. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to develop a long-term treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer.
Necks respond beautifully to Botox; my toxin of choice is Jeaveau. I use it in two different ways. First, it's injected directly into the vertical bands or cords of the platysma muscle that stand out when you smile or shave. I use a different technique called MicroTox to get rid of the horizontal necklace lines that circle your neck. This Botox is injected superficially into the skin, not muscle, and you literally watch the lines soften and smooth out.
Hi there! In the same way that treating patients at a younger age prevents deeper facial lines and wrinkles from forming, it can also help prevent lines from forming along the neck. That said, Botox will not treat or prevent sagging skin or other signs of aging along the neck. I recommend booking a consultation with an experienced provider who can determine the best treatment options for your aesthetic concerns and goals. Hope this helps!
Preventative neck botox is definitely a "thing!" Many people are getting something called "tech neck" (lines across the neck from looking at phones and computer screen) and / or have Platysmal bands that may not be aesthetically pleasing and can pull down on the lower face, accentuating the jowls. Botox has been showing to improve pore size and redness as well. You may consider a provider who offers a "botox facial" or "Aquagold" treatment that utilizes a mixture of microneedling with neurotoxins, fillers, vitamins and or PRP to apply to the face, neck and / or chest area for preventative purposes and improvement in skin tone and texture.
Hi Rima0,You can do neck botox as a preventative treatment. This will help with neck aging.I hope this helps answer your question. All the best,Akshay Sanan, MDLos Angeles, CA
Botox is used to prevent dynamic or lines that are caused by movement. Horizontal lines on the neck are lines of flexion just like the ones that you see on the palm of the hand. As long as the person is alive such lines will exist. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
Hello and thank you for your question. We would always recommend a face to face consult however in this case botox can be used to help soften banding of the platysma muscle. It will reduce these bands but isn't so preventative in the neck as it is in the face.We hope that answers your question. Best wishes
