Hi I’ve had a few consultations with a couple of surgeons and the last one suggests that asymmetry of around 50 cc is likely not worth sizing up in case it goes the other way. Does anyone have any experience on this please? Like has anyone done 2 same size on that asymmetrical breast before and if so what was the outcome? Suggests for BB 430 UHP MENTOR

Answer: Breast Augmentation Asymmetry is very common in women’s breasts. It’s impossible to give you a definitive answer without seeing your breast so I’ll just tell you what I typically do. I measure your breasts before surgery, we decide what your ideal size is. Then I suggest the peri-areola, or nipple incision if I believe you are going to need adjustment to make your breast even. Sometimes just a little breast tissue and skin around the larger breast can be removed, making the breast even using the same size implants in both breasts. Sometimes different size implants are needed. Sometimes when breast are different shapes, the breast pocket needs modified to make the breasts symmetrical. It’s best to seek out a board certified plastic surgeon to perform your procedure. If you’d like to be seen and go over what options would work best in your situation, feel free to reach out to my office. Smith Plastic Surgery 702-838-2455

Answer: Asymmetry After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon' s experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them. Answer: Asymmetry It is not uncommon to have some amount of asymmetry to the breasts. If you don't correct the asymmetry with differently sized implants you will have the same amount of asymmetry after surgery as you have now. Sometimes the asymmetry can affect how the breasts sit in a bra or can be noticeable in clothes or bathing suits. If was bothersome to you in the past now is the chance to address it. Just be aware that the amount of asymmetry can only be estimated.
