Hi. I am very happy with the results I got from a Hairtransplant in 2018. I remember that straight after the HT the doctor did a PRP treatment. I am noticing that I loose around 6-10 hairs from the top of my head every time I wash the hair (2-3 times per week). Is it anything I can do to maintain the results? Will PRP help or will the hairs not benefit significantly? I remember the doctor said he injected PRP because it was good for newly transplanted hairs. Im using Finasteride. Kind regards

Answer: Post transplant PRP? Englewood Cliffs NJ PRP is utilized pre and post transplant for many reasons. Immediately pre and post operative, PRP improves the rate of growth and "take" percentage of the transplant. Once out of the post operative period, the gradual miniaturization of the natural hair restarts. Prp can improve the density and thickness of the non transplanted hair and improve the shaft diameter of the transplanted hair. These effects are enhanced by your Finasteride therapy. This should help to maintain your results. Find a PRP expert. Jeff Rapaport MD FAAD Realself Hall of Fame

Answer: Maintaining Hair Transplant Results with PRP Therapy or a Second Transplant It’s natural to notice some hair shedding years after a transplant, as transplanted and existing hairs are subject to the aging process and ongoing thinning. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy can be a great option to maintain your results. By injecting growth factors derived from your plasma into the scalp, PRP strengthens follicles, promotes healthier growth, and enhances the overall integrity of your hair. Since you’re already using Finasteride, PRP can complement its effects by preserving both transplanted and native hair. Regular PRP treatments, as recommended by your provider, help maintain density and slow further thinning. If your results begin to diminish significantly, you might also consider a new hair transplant to address additional areas of loss. Modern techniques provide natural and lasting outcomes, often surpassing the results of older procedures. For those looking to go a step further, innovations like exosome injections, which are highly concentrated with growth factors, may also provide additional benefits. Whether through PRP, a second transplant, or advanced treatments, there are effective ways to sustain and even enhance your hair restoration results.
