Inverted nipple after pregnancy, is this normal?

I have got inverted nipples two weeks after having my son... my right nipple is still inverted and I'm 6 weeks post birth, sometimes the nipple is flush with the breast but often inverted it is never outward

New onset nipple inversion or retraction may be a sign of an underlying pathologic process; best to be evaluated by your primary care physician to rule this out.  Once concerning lesions have been ruled out, seek consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons to discuss options. Some general thoughts:Inverted nipples can cause functional problems for women and emotional concerns. An inverted nipple can look flat or a slit like depression or hole at the normal nipple location. There are different degrees of inverted nipples possible. Usually correction of the inverted nipples involve division of the lactiferous (milk ducts). Risks of the procedure include potential loss of sensation, inability to breast-feed, recurrence of the inversion and the potential need for further surgery.   Usually done under local anesthesia, without difficulty.
