Some redness is normal immediately after an IPL treatment. If the IPL was done for brown spots, then the redness usually fades after 30min to an hour. The pigmented areas will get darker, then fade over 3-4 weeks.If the IPL was done for redness and capillaries, these areas often get darker red, then fade over several weeks, so having redness a day later is normal. Bruising is also very common.Things to watch out for after an IPL treatment include blisters or any crusting or scabs. If this occurs, I recommend calling your physician right away.
