I had IPL yesterday for rosacea, blood vessels and the redness seems worse than ever. Is this normal?

question.Bruising and swelling can occur post IPL treatment and could potentialy last up to one week until fully healed. If you have persistent redness or begin to blister, contact the provider who performed your service to review your concerns. To be sure, see two
or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to
make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have
treatment.

If the IPL was done with strong setting the face can have redness that persists for a few weeks.  Blisters or irrittation are not normal and should be evaluated by your physician if they exist. Best, Dr. Emer.

Some redness is normal immediately after an IPL treatment. If the IPL was done for brown spots, then the redness usually fades after 30min to an hour. The pigmented areas will get darker, then fade over 3-4 weeks.If the IPL was done for redness and capillaries, these areas often get darker red, then fade over several weeks, so having redness a day later is normal. Bruising is also very common.Things to watch out for after an IPL treatment include blisters or any crusting or scabs. If this occurs, I recommend calling your physician right away.

It is normal to be red immediately after IPL treatment.  Maximum results are typically not realized for a few weeks.  If you have blistering, crusting or other problems contact your physician immediately.
