Ehlers Danlos Syndrome stretchy skin breast augmentation? (Photo)

Question

I am suspected to have EDS due to my stretchy skin. I’ve wanted bigger, fuller shaped breasts my entire life but have been told that I will never get the results I want due to my skin laxity. I dislike the saggy, stretch mark skin. Is there really nothing to be done?

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

I would at least try a larger breast implant.  Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon who has a creative side and is willing to work with you and EDS.  
Skin tightening has also become something that can be done without surgery (like breast lift);  devices like Morpheus can be used to try to tighten skin.  I don't know of any studies though so that outcomes could be reviewed.  Best Wishes!!

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome can sometimes be a tricky thing when it comes to a breast augmentation. I have had patients with EDS. Over time your skin may want to sag quicker. I would suggest to create a tight, supportive pocket for the breast implants. It may not be a one and done surgery.

Hello,You can visit a dermatologist to find out if you have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Depending on the diagnosis, if you do not have EDS, you can get a breast implant as you wish.

From your photographs, it appears your breasts are low on the chest wall. You may benefit from a breast lift and possible fat transfers as opposed to implants. If you do want implants then I recommend small implants because the weight will cause additional loading. The lift technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers or small implants can be placed if additional volume is desired.

It’s possible to have surgery, although risks of bottoming out and wound healing complications can be higher. If you choose to proceed, choose the smallest implant that will fulfill your goals and consider an internal bra or sling to support the weight of the implant.

Implants can be added for more volume, but your skin will stretch and continue to do so. You may find that your larger breasts just sag even more. Even with a lift, your skin will stretch and usually fairly quickly. Your wish photo is not reality for your skin, and I do not recommend trying to go that large for you.

If you are indeed found to have EDS, a breast augmentation would not be a good idea.  The implants will likely stretch your skin and age your breasts rapidly.
