Hello. I have lot of dark spots on my leg. When I squeeze it it comes out. I have been waxing and using epilator but I always get ingrown hair and my legs becomes very itchy so I got a lot of hyperpigmentation spots. I want to have laser hair removal but I don't know what is the best machine for me. I heard a lot of names ( kandela gentel , deka ... ) idk what is the best and will these hyperpigmentation spots fade away ??
Answer: Recommend doing a melapeel to help clear pores and even out skin tone and texture. Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Laser hair removal and ingrown hair From your photos, you appear to have fairly dark hair and your skin type would be appropriate for use of lasers for hair removal. Reducing hair and ingrown hair is just what these lasers are meant to do. You should get an inperson evaluation by an experienced Laser provider in your area to answer and provide more information, but from your pictures it does appear that you wold be a good candidate for these treatments. Do expect to need 5-8 treatments for good results depending on the lasers that they use. I prefer Diode lasers for best results if the skin type is appropriate. Best wishes,Pamela Stuart, MD

Answer: Best Machine for hair removal Thank you for the question. More important than the machine brand is the person using it and the modality used. Several machines can offer Yag lasers, diode lasers or IPL therapy. All are effective, when used properly, to achieve long term hair removal in any region of the body. Some have a higher discomfort when used and a slightly higher risk of skin injury. The best solution is to find a provider in your area with experience and knowledge willing to explain what modalities they offer and to try a small sample area (usually for no cost) so you can see the results. Being able to live without ingrown hairs and not having to shave/wax/tweeze in the future may make this the right choice for you. Good luck.
