Will my tooth fall out after trauma?

Question

I got hit in the front tooth. One of the big ones right in the upper front. It was knocked inwards, but I pushed it back in place right away. This was about three weeks ago. It hurt a little still, and a tiny bit wiggly. But I think it's healing pretty good. But I looked at it and the gums around it are a little purple. I'm so scared it will fall out. I haven't been to the dentist yet.

Hello there,Sorry to hear what's happened to you.  To answer your question, you probably have about a 50% chance of keeping this tooth, if you do not see a dentist immediately.  If you see a dentist, you can possibly improve those odds to about 80% chance of keeping that tooth.  I would recommend scheduling an appointment soon.  Good luck and I hope this helps. I highly recommend you see a dentist immediately and have your tooth evaluated.  It is unlikely you will lose the tooth but there are things that can be done to improve your odds.  Don't wait.  Good luck!
