Thank you for your question. After a breast augmentation with a periareolar incision, it's essential to allow proper healing before considering any tattoos on the nipple area. Typically, you should wait at least 6 months to a year post-surgery to ensure the scars have matured and there's no residual inflammation. Tattoos can potentially cause complications or interfere with healing if done prematurely. Always consult with your plastic surgeon before making a decision.
Dear Elizabeth1998.xo,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Tattooing over any type of scar can be carried out as soon as 3 to 6 months. Scars initially get the thickest and the strongest at three months and then begin to change back to normal skin over the next 9 to 12 months.
It takes a year for your scars to mature. Your surgeon will be the best one to advise when it is okay for you to proceed with tattooing the area based on how you are progressing through recovery. Keep in mind that the areola may change in appearance depending on the implant size you select.
I would wait at least 4 months to decrease the risk of infection of your implants. Tattoos on your nipples are still not a good idea since nipples always carry bacteria. I would recommend no tattoo in that area.
Hi & thanks for your question! Follow the instructions/guidelines given by your surgeon. If you have any questions or concerns reach out to him or her. Best wishes!

Hello and thank you for your question. Honestly, a formal in-person evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are several reasons for this: 1) Bra sizes vary based on the clothing store (for example, Victoria's Secret tends to upsize everyone by a whole cup size) 2) Most...
You may have some capsule or scar tissue that is involving a sensory nerve. You might consider going down in size which will be less strain on your tissue.
Dear Raindrop26, bottoming out occurs when the implant falls below the current breast crease or inframammary line. It's more likely to happen with inframammary incisions, which is why I try not to use the inframammary approach to any breast surgery. Bottoming out can also occur if an implant is...
