What are the options for treating a fused tooth? (photo)

Question

Hi everyone! So one of my maxillary lateral incisors is actually a fused tooth. My orthodontist opted to shave down/re-shape the tooth instead of replacing it with an implant. It doesn't cause me any pain, but I really don't like the look of it. What would be the best course of treatment? Thank you!

Dear Lena, I'm not exactly sure how your teeth are fused and would need to give you an exam with x-rays to fully understand your problem. I think the photo looks okay, not perfect. Be careful with implants because even though they are an excellent approximation of nature, they are not the same thing as natural teeth and can have long term complications.
