Should I go on another dose of accutane? I've had a relapse (Photo)

Hi I was on accutane before and it cleared me up, but when i was finished it really dried up my eyes. They have gotten better and no longer look as red as befofe. I went on some steroid eye drop and it helped a lot. They do still feel like theyre burning sometimes... If i go back on accutane will it destroy my eyes :0 I have like no acne on my nose and none right below the eye area!

Accutane is a go-to medication for patients with recalcitrant cystic acne. It can reduce pore size and also reduce sebum production in your skin, making it less oily; and in turn, dryer. Accutane can be used to control acne, but patients receiving the medication should be carefully monitored. In terms of skincare, always wear an appropriate sunscreen and reduce direct sun exposure. In my patients, I recommend a good ceramide moisturizer such as Elevase whenever they are on Accutane. This will keep the skin hydrated and reduce the oiliness of the skin that is associated with oil-based moisturizers.

When it comes to acne treatments, a combination of
treatments are available including cosmeceuticals (medical grade skin care
products specific for acne including ZO® Skin Health or ZO® Medical,
Skinceuticals® or Glo-Minerals®), topical antibacterials, topical retinoids,
oral antibacterials, oral anti-androgens, oral retinoids (isotretinoin or accutane),
chemical peels (light, medium, and deep peels), lasers (Cutera Excel-V laser,
Nd:YAG spectra laser), and light based devices (blue/red light, IPL/BBL, PDT
with metvix or levulan).

In your case, maybe try antibiotics like doxycycline and a topical vitamin a cream. These are advanced techniques so be sure to get an
experienced dermatologist  for
recommendations and treatment options. Since your in edmonton, you have access to some great dermatologists.
