Had 1.6mls on lips a week ago. Lips still sore and a bit hard and numbish. Wonder how long this will go on? Thought it would be all ok by now? Really happy with the look but maybe my teeny tiny lips couldn’t take 1.6mls. Wouldn’t really want it removed but can’t imagine having this feeling in my lips for a year.

Answer: Filler in lips Your presentation is not very typical. Although some suggest it takes 2 weeks for swelling to resolve, after 1 week the majority of patients have the swelling gone, unless injection was traumatic. It would be also interesting to know what filler did you have injected. 1.6ml is not very common volume; since you are located in the UK, you have an access to some fillers that come in 0.8ml...eg. Perfecta or Surgiderm. The only other filler that comes in 0.8ml is Radiesse but it would be unusual to have this filler used for lip enhancement. If your symptoms do not get worse, you may need to wait a little longer using simple remedies as suggested in other comments. If there is no improvement your injector will be able to assist you with the next step. Before dissolving filler, one could use a very short course of steroids. Good luck!

Answer: Hard, tense lips after filler You can apply some moist, warm compresses to the lips 6 times a day and this will help with the feeling of tension in the lips. Good luck from York City
