There are many variables that not go into the healing process after a rhinoplasty or a septoplasty.  Thick skin takes longer to heal. The technique performed on the inside of the nose, especially in the tip will determine the length of swelling as well.  An incision across the columella will  the visible for several months after the procedure, while a closed approach incision is completely on the inside of the nose
