Septoplasty on 7/10/17, can I smoke the same day to help with the pain or will it get infected?

i smoke marijuana for my back pain and i smoke every day am iable to continue smoking after the surgery or will i have to quit until i am healed and if so how long is the recovery time

Hi shanay225,
I do not recommend smoking after your nasal surgery. It may delay your wound healing and may cause complications that could be avoided. I would consult your surgeon to discuss his/her preferences.

It is best to not smoke any type of products for at least  two weeks before and after the surgery to allow full healing and preventing infection. Best to check with your operative surgeon for their advice
