I am in my 20s & VERY interested in a lower facelift. I desire this procedure because my face shape is kindof square but if I put 2 fingers on each side of my mandible & lift up to my ears I get a really nice V shape to my face. I researched Botox and jaw reduction but Botox is not strong enough/permanent to give me the results I want and jaw redux is too risky. Where can I find a doctor that can do this procedure on me? I'm not even sure if it would be consider a LowerFaceLift. Please advise.

Answer: Lower facelift Although younger people are starting to get more "mini" or lower facelifts, it is important that you be carefully examined by a plastic surgeon to come up with a safe and effective plan together. You may be interested in a facelift, but you may also come to realize that you do not need one. After a discussion about the pro and cons and alternatives (including non-invasive energy-based devices or skin treatments) you can make an informed decision which will help you better reach your goals.

Answer: Lower Facelift in early-mid twenties? Hi, I have performed many facelifts over the past 30 years and quite a few on wonem intheir late twenties toearly thirties that already had jowl formation. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation using a dermal filler (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or with cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks anteriorly that will feminize the entire face. If you have jowls, these are sagging facial tissues and an indication for some form of a facelift. The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured. The excess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed. My most popular facelift is the minimally invasive, short incision facelift that has all the benefits of more invasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face, deep plane and subperiosteal facelifts) but with these added benefits: •very small incisions •minimal tissue dissection = less bruising and swelling = rapid recovery •can be performed in 90 minutes or less, with or without anesthesia •no incisions within the hair = no hair loss •excess fat can be removed •excess skin removed •cheeks, chin and jaw line can be augmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or facial implants •most patients fly back home to parts all over the world in as little as 3 days post-op Hope this helps.
