BL/BA+AL scheduled in July. Researching implant sizes prior to pre-op appt. Seems I have unusual stats from the average woman on RS: 5'11", 185 lbs, chest width 15", shoulder width 18". Haven't found before/afters with these figures, so can't assess results. Sientra textured, round, moderate profile recommended. Manufacturers data sheet reflects 15.1 cm that would work with my chest width, but it is 695cc!! Do I really have to go that large to be proportionate? Thanks in advance for responses.
Answer: 695cc implants It is not necessary to choose implants that extend the exact width of your breasts; in fact, there will not be much coverage of the implants if you do. I would recommend looking at other factors as well - photos, sizers, and your surgeon's advice.

Answer: Perhaps very large 695 is very large. I'd would suggest placing 695cc of flour in a baggy and place it in your bra to trial the size out.

Answer: Proportionate? Those are pretty big implants, and you are already DD-ish. Sounds disproportionately large overall. If you are unsure, get another opinion. There are lots of us board-certified PS out there. Find one who does a lot of augmentation mastopexies (implants and lifts together). Best of luck to you.

Answer: Will 695cc provide proportion? Thank you for the question and picture. Despite good intentions, online consultants will not be able to provide you with meaningful specific advice. Ultimately, in person consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons will be necessary. Careful measurements, dimensional planning, and careful communication will be key. Patients who are considering breast augmentation/lifting surgery should understand that this combination surgery is significantly more complex than either one of the procedures done separately. In other words, the combination breast augmentation / mastopexy surgery differs from breast augmentation surgery alone in that it carries increased risk compared to either breast augmentation or mastopexy surgery performed separately. Furthermore, the potential need for revisionary surgery is increased with breast augmentation / mastopexy surgery done at the same time. This revisionary rate may be as high (or higher) than 20%. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you're looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or “C or D cup” or "provide proportion" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may also be very helpful during this communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. I hope this (and the attached link) help.

Answer: Choosing a size is a matter of personal preference The implants are 15 cm wide for each breast. The measurement you show is of the entire chest not the base diameter of the breasts. The size you choose is based on your perception of the perfect breasts. Nobody can tell you what that is.
