6 days post op Smart lipo to thighs and flanks- do I need the foam pads? When can I take ibuprofen?

The foam pads under my cg are rough... I feel like if they're not in the right place they cause uneven swelling on my thighs, and the skin under them is super raw. My ps says I need them 2 weeks, but I know they don't make everyone wear them. Also- the pain meds make me nauseous so I don't take much and I'm super sore- when can I take Ibuprofen or Aleve?

Foam pads can irritate the skin. You can substitute any other type of firm padding if you want extra compression at certain sites especially if your skin is raw. You can take ibuprofen right away if your lipo was done with tumescent (awake) anesthesia.

I do not usually place foam padding under the compression garment, and I usually do not allow patients to take NSAID's for about a week or so after lipo.  Best to review with your surgeon.
