I had smart lipo of the upper and lower abdomen and flanks done this morning. My main question is what is a faster way to drain the fluid? I have a prescription of Vicodin for pain. I was told I could stand in the shower and massage the fluid out of me if I can tolerate it being that I am still numb. I was also told I should massage and wear the garment, spanx, or waist trainer for a few weeks. I plan on getting back in the gym next week if my body allows me to. Any other suggestions doctors!

Eating causes the abdomen to swell from the inside. This swelling makes contour irregularities more prominent. Most of these irregularities are from fluid trapped within the layers that were treated with liposuction. These fluid shifts improve over time and can take up to six months to normalize...
When pads or tape are left on the skin for too long, removal can be difficult and aggressive peeling can damage the skin. The best way to get them off is to soak them in water, wait a few minutes and then carefully peel them off.
The skin changes you describe can be caused by fluid trapped in the area. It is a good idea to go for professional massages frequently to help eliminate this fluid to avoid any long term skin changes.
