Would either laser resurfacing or chemical peel be safe for a patient on Herceptin/Perjeta?

In general, if you have cancer your health and healing ability are compromised. If I was your cosmetic dermatologist, I would recommend waiting until your chemotherapy cycles are completed, before having laser resurfacing or a peel. There are other options for rejuvenation. Fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm can dramatically improve wrinkles around the mouth, with little recovery and risks. Juvederm Volume can make a significant difference in restoring youthful fullness and contour to a gaunt aging face. These are  safer alternatives to laser resurfacing and chemical peels until your health is restored. For an elective cosmetic procedure on your face, I would recommend minimizing the risks. 

Your question is whether laser resurfacing or chemical peels are safe with a specific chemotherapy regimen. I have been doing laser resurfacing a long time and this is the first time this question has come up. I looked up both drugs and dont see any contraindications but really needs to be discussed with your oncologist. Best would be to get the doc performing the laser to speak to your oncologist and to do a bit of homework. The post procedure care is very important with deeper laser procedures.
