I got IPL done on my right armpit. I am wondering if it will scar and what I should do to reduce the pain from the burn? (photo)

Hi, I got IPL done on my right armpit and the lady put the laser on high voltage resulting in the burn shown in the photo. Will it scar? What can I do to reduce the pain. I have been instructed by the lady conducting the IPL, to use antiseptic cream. What is the best method to help the healing process? Thanks for any input

Thanks for your question. Swelling after IPL can happen and shouldn't be a cause for concern. Use the RICE method (Rest, ice, elevation, and compression) to reduce swelling. Speak with the technician who preformed the procedure keep them informed.

You can use IPL when you are on isotretinion . we find that microneedling with fractional non ablative laser is best with the IPL to get even more outcome.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Yes, It is fine to have an IPL treatment one week before microneedling.  We often perform these treatments on the same day.
