I got IPL done on my right armpit. I am wondering if it will scar and what I should do to reduce the pain from the burn? (photo)

The darker rectangular stripe is a burn caused as a result of high settings or dark pigment on the ski. The burn should be treated with a barrier repair cream usually prescription strength and sunblock or sun avoidance. I would advise the Medical Director, Doctor, PA, or Nurse Practitioner at the Laser Center so that you begin treatment right away to avoid or reduce scarring in that area.

Hello Ganaeka, so sorry to see this happen to you. It is unfortunate, and although many will attribute this to inexperience (which it very well may be) I can tell you, in all honesty, that burns can often happen even in the most experienced hands. Patient responses vary with energy settings, which is interesting because it could be the same energy setting. I think you are doing the right thing by applying the antibiotic cream and should return to the clinic for a check up. I think it would be premature to say based on the picture that you will scar badly or have pigment changes. Keep us updated on your progress, hoping for the best.
