Is it REALLY THAT necessary to get braces prior to getting veneers done?

This is a question about your time frame and willingness to follow-up with treatment.Instant orthodontics with veneers can create incredibly beautiful results with the right artist dentist doing the work.  The more teeth are not aligned the more important the diagnostic wax up becomes.Do no consider moving ahead without that vital step.If time is available even without pictures I expect you are an excellent candidate for a DNA Appliance.  That is based on the time you wore braces.  It corrects the physiological aspects of cosmetic treatment.

Without a picture I can't be very specific about your question. In general it is nice if the teeth are more ideally positioned before getting veneers, however it isn't always a requirement. If your teeth are more ideally positioned your dentist may be more conservative about removing tooth structure. This translates into better bonding of the veneers and healthier teeth. Many patients have veneers done so that they don't have to go through orthodontics to get straighter teeth. If you are concerned about the treatment plan I would suggest a second opinion.

If there's a big problem in your teeth probably the best way is doing orthodontics first and then the veneers so you will have a very complete case

Get those veneers, and you will be able to enjoy your smile,in just a few days, braces are good, but at the end you will still have those teeth, same color and same shape, with veneers you can change shape, size and even color, so thats one of the great things about veneers, and making things more simple and the results are amazing.
