Dear mona2050, I almost always place implants submuscular. It lowers the rate of capsular contracture significantly. In addition, it looks much more natural because the muscle provides covering over the implant so it’s not as round on the top. I've also noticed the implants drop less over time when they are protected under the muscle. If you are concerned, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Implant sizes vary on many factors such as your chest wall measurements, your skin elasticity, the amount of breast tissue, your desired result, and the technique and skill of your surgeon. The optimal and the maximum implant size would also vary on each individual. There must be a reason why your surgeon has limited the implants to this size. The best course of action would be to have a detailed discussion with your surgeon regarding his/her rationale for the implant size.
Thank you for the question. It really depends on the patient (there are no absolute "rules"). Assuming your breast implants are currently in good position and the quality of the overlying tissues will allow for safe expansion (use of more volume), you should be able to maintain your breast implants in the sub glandular position. Nothing will replace careful in person evaluation and communication of goals. Best wishes.
Yes, I routinely place XL breast implants over the muscle. There is more room and esp if you are there now, I would just enlarge the space that you have. There is also less droppiness when on top of muscle. Also, the muscle tends to push the implants down quicker. There are a few plastic surgeons that specialize in XL sizes.I have specialized in XL breast implants for many years. I have special arrangements for my out of town patients and on average they stay about 4 days but I encourage them to stay longer.I suggest that you go to XLbreastimplantsdotinfo for my website specifically on this subject. I also provide my patients with other options depending on what is their ultimate goal size. I also provide free FACETIME/SKYPE consultations booked through my Newport Beach offices. The silicone XL sizes definitely feel and look more natural but my patients are also very happy with the ovefilled saline impants to XL size. I also provide overseas B-lite silicone implants which also are available to me overseas. These are 30% lighter than standard silicone implants but so far I am only able to obtain them for my patients up to a 920cc size. It is definitely better to go to a plastic surgeon who specializes in XL breast implants for the potential for problems is greater.
Hi meemee93, I understand your concern. However, it would be difficult to ascertain the best course of action to achieve your breast goals through online consultation. It would be best to consult a board certified plastic surgeon for proper assessment and to discuss your options. Only after a t...
Your incisions seem to be healing fine. Scabs are just dried blood and should be cleansed. If there are any slight open areas it should be covered with antibiotic ointment and a small bandaid until its healed. Just a side note ideally your incision should be directly in your inframammary fo...
Thank you for your question. You appear to be very early in your healing process. How much cleavage you have depends primarily on your natural anatomy, and your preoperative photos indicate that your breasts sit a little far apart. Cleavage is also affected by how the implant pocket was created...
