Can I reshape my veneers for a more natural look? (photos)

Question

Hello, I just got 16 veneers done upper and lower and I feel like the shape is not exactly what I wanted specially the front ones too big and square. I wanted something similar to my natural teeth (smaller and more rounded) do you think I can ask my dentist to reshape them and is it possible I don’t want to ruin them or be more disappointed. What can I do to get closer to my natural smile ?Thank you

Unfortunately, shape, size and color all need to be hammered down with proper pre-op diagnostic workups prior to insertion.  Very little adjustment is allowed within the confines of veneers ones bonded into place.

Your newly made Veneers are not worth shaping as the esthetics is not upto the mark. Would suggest you to choose another dentist to give you the best esthetic veneers. The colour and contour and also the gum level of the veneer are not correct. Beautiful veneers can be made as per your face. So please consult the best esthetic dentist for making new veneers

Hello,Veneers can be fabricated from composite or ceramic. If you have veneers that are made from composite material you can reshape it without any risk of fracture. If your veneers are made from porcelain and you do not like the final outcome, reshaping it is risky because porcelain can fracture, or by shaping it you can introduce cracks and it weakens it. Usually before final cementation of veneers, dentist show how they will look in the patient's mouth and gets approval and permission for cementation. The only way to change the shape of veneer significantly that is cemented is to re-do it.

Minor re-shaping of your veneers is possible and you should discuss this with your treating doctor if your needs are just confined to the edges and corners of your teeth. However, major changes may not be possible. As has been mentioned before, while not always necessary, in cases of doing multiple veneers it is prudent to have a diagnostic wax up completed and presented to the patient to discuss end goals of esthetic treatment, good luck!

Although I agree with the previous answers, I believe you might be happier with your dentist doing a tiny bit of recontouring of the two front teeth. This might entail just rounding the corners of the teeth.
