I recently got a Pico laser done on my face for skin pigmentation and the procedure lasted 5 minutes. Is that normal?

The PicoSure and PicoWay lasers are two of my favorite lasers. They can treat skin very quickly. Any laser treatment can have downtime for up to 2 weeks post-procedure, and it would likely take at least that long to see any results. I would wait 2 weeks, and if you are still unsure, schedule a follow-up appointment with your physician. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who is an expert in laser skin resurfacing.

you need to ask how many pulses were delivered to your face and what lens was used?it is possible that they used a very aggressive setting and you got a lot of redness, so they stopped your treatment early. it is very common to see no improvement after only one session. I insist my patients buy a package of 3 sessions so that they don't quit prematurely.david berman md
