What are your experiences using the PicoSure on patients? Advice?

So i'm lookin into getting my tattoo removed and read a lot of positive stuff about the Picosure, but then i came across this article about a dermatologist who sued Cynosure claiming the Picosure is a fraud and has very little result. Naturally i'm worried about spending a lot of time and money and also putting my health at risk picking the wrong laser. What are your experiences using the Picosure on patients? could you give me some advice? thanks!

Thank you for asking this question. Our experiences with the Picosure in regards to tattoo removal have been great. This machine is able to specifically target the ink using pico seconds. Picosure laser technology delivers ultra-short bursts of energy to the skin in trillionths of a second to gently target and eliminate pigment without damaging or harming surrounding skin. Picosure uses gentle pressure rather than heat that often requires up to one-week downtime for recovery.

Best advice coming into any treatment especially with the Picosure, is to have realistic and attainable expectations. Patience is truly required, because multiple sessions are most often required. Our team will help develop a customized treatment plan that is suitable to each individual.

Thank you for your question.  We have had our PicoSure for almost 5 years and have treated over 1000 tattoos.  We have had very few that were suborn and the patient gave up.  The PicoSecond technology is superior to the older nanosecond / q-switch lasers.  Unfortunately, when a physician gets a new laser, they can only be taught the protocols used during the FDA approval process.  With time and experience, a physician can develop their own protocols that work better.  For you, find a provider in your area that has the most experience with their picosecond laser.  The SECRET to successful laser tattoo is to wait longer between treatments.  The laser is only making the ink particles smaller.  You have to give your body time to absorb and dispose of it.  I hope this helps.Further background on the lawsuit:  The new 755nm PicoSure was touted as the new laser that can get rid of any tattoo with any color.  That was mostly true.  We had a 50/50 response rate to red and pink ink.  CynoSure developed and sold a 532nm upgrade.  Our original feeling was we were sold this great sports car and then were told if you want reverse, it's an extra $...  Our bottom line was the upgrade was more expensive than we will ever recover, but in order to have the laser that can do everything, we had to buy it.  Each physician has to come to their own conclusion.
