Droopy Eyelid on my Left Eye and Have TMJ Syndrome? (photo)

Question

I have droopy eyelid on my left eye and I have TMJ syndrome. The more severe joint is on the left side of my face. Does both of them link? What kind of surgery should I have to do? Some doctors recommeded subbrow lift while the others recommended blepharoptosis, incisional eyelid surgery and levator muscle operation. Thank you very much

There is not enough information and the photographs are too small to help you. However, there is a jaw and ptosis relationship in what is called a Marcus Gunn Jaw-winking syndrome. You can research it on line and see if this is something that might fit your situation.

Most people would say that they are not related. However, the eye, ear, jaw develop from the same progenitor cells through development so this is highly possible. The correction of this would not have to involve the jaw though.

it's very difficult to say for sure from your photographs. In general you would need incision technique upper eyelid surgery with anchoring to the levator beneath. I can't comment on any brow lift or TMJ as I can't see our face nor do I know medical history.

	 

	In any case I'm sure you need incision technique of the upper eyelid surgery but you need to get a number of consultations with surgeons who operate on Asian eyelid frequently.
