Droopy Eyelid After Rhinoplasty? (photo)

Question

Hi, I had an open rhinoplasty 6 weeks ago to correct a crooked nose, about a week after the surgery i noticed that my left eyelid looked droopy or maybe swollen, it wasnt like this before from memory and looking at pre op pictures. Another thing is my nose was deviated to the left and its my left eyelid thats gone wrong. I am really worried is this going to stay like this its been 6 weeks!

Patients after rhinoplasty procedure can have swelling and bruising around eye area. generally it should be mostly resolved by 6 weeks

	This procedure itself has (should not) have anything to do with eyes otherwise. Please refer to pictures before the procedure and compare if the difference in eye appearance was present  there before. Talk to your surgeon , he should be able to explain what is happening

You do have left upper eyelid ptosis (droopy). If related to swelling after surgery, it should have resolved by now although it is possible for it to still improve up to 3 months after surgery. See an oculoplastic specialist for evaluation.

Apart from some degree of swelling which may still be present, Rhinoplasty should have no effect on Eyelid appearance or eyelid position. The photo appears to show a mild left sided ptosis. I recommend that you review the preoperative photos to determine if this was present before the procedure.

If your left eyelid is off, swelling is the easy answer as it is hard to imagine another cause.
