I've had 2 Exilis treatments to my abdomen and have had a lot of burning. The PA performing the treatment said that it was normal. She would stop the device in one spot and it was extremely hot....causing me to actually lift the device for relieve. Is this normal?
Answer: Exilis Thank you for your question in regards to Exilis. During treatments, it is expected for the area to become extremely warm. Hydration is key prior to this treatment. The more hydrated you are, the more comfortable the procedure will be causing less discomfort from the heat. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Exilis Treatment Thank you for asking. It is normal to feel intense heat but not a burning sensation. The hand piece should always be moving while on and even a few seconds after pressing off on the hand piece. It is best to shut it off but keep moving for a few seconds before lifting the device to prevent a minor tingle sensation on the skin due to the radio frequency device. If you were feeling burning in one spot when the hand piece stopped moving, hand piece was still on so that is why it caused you to lift the device from the feeling of a burn. Be cautious of where you get your treatment and of the area after treatment. Be sure to contact your provider with any adverse reactions. Best of Luck. Dr Rosy Sandhu.

Answer: Exilis and Heat Thanks for your question about Exilis. While it is normal to feel the sensation of heat while you are getting the treatment, it should not rise to the level of pain or discomfort. Keep the communication going with your practitioner and be sure that the applicator is continuously in motion...let them know when it starts to get to hot on your skin. Please also note that the power of the device may be adjusted to ensure your comfort. Best of luck in the future!

Answer: Exilis treatment There can be a sensation of heat when having an Exilis treatment. This sensation should not be a burning sensation or uncomfortable..The way the heat is delivered and the speed at which the applicator is moved can be adjusted for the patient's comfort. You should let your practitioner know if it is uncomfortable. Stopping the device in one spot is poor technique and can result in a burn.

Answer: Exilis Heat Thank you for your question. Exilis treatments can become very warm and uncomfortable, however there should not be any burning or pain associated with it. Your provider should always be moving the hand-piece. If movement stops while energy is being released, it will cause a burn. The power on the device can also be turned down if the heat sensation is too intense. It is also very important to communicate with your provider during treatment so that you both are on the same page. I hope this was helpful.
