Answer: Drains and BBL
Drains are not required for a fat transfer to the buttock procedure if you are wearing a compression garment and foam padding after surgery. The drains are used to prevent fluid collections (seromas) but should not be needed in most cases. I personally do not feel they are needed for this procedure however I do use them for tummy tucks routinely.

Answer: Why do some doctors use drains with a BBL procedure and some do not? We typically only use drains for gluteal implants and not for fat transfers. Drains are used to remove excess fluid from an open space.. Typically there is not an open space with fat transfer buttock augmentation.
