Hi Doctor, what is the best way to remove the self-harm scars on my left upper arm near my shoulder? (photo)

These scars as seen from the photo attached are from when I self-harmed around 3 years back. I've tried scar removal gels and bio-oil as well as silicone sheeting but they still remain visible and they take a toll on my self-esteem. It makes me self-conscious and I've been searching for options to reduce/remove them. How should I go about doing so? I've heard about microneedling, will it help? Or any laser treatments?

Scarring from Herpes simplex infection (cold sore) can be treated with either TCA peel or Laser. However, you will need prophylactic antiviral medication for 5-7 days to prevent the re-activation of the virus which can persevere in that area for a long time.
