I advise my patients to discontinue any Non prescription or herbal medications two weeks prior to surgery. This is the easiest way to instruct patients ahead of time. If it not a prescription med you can do without it for two weeks, but get the specific instruction for your situation from your surgeon.

I give my patients a list of medications that I would like for them to stop at least 2 weeks prior to surgery because many medications increase your risk of bleeding. Diet pills are not regulated in the US and there is not a good way to determine exactly what you are taking. So I would say review your medications with your doctor and stop anything that will increase your bleeding risk.
It depends on how much augmentation you need but septum, ear or rib cartilage can be used. Medpor has been used successfully in the nose but my preference is the patients own tissue.
