As I always kind of liked having a noticable nose, I always thought a little work on the tip would only make it better. What if I only want to make the center part of the tip to be narrower and my nostrils to be wider and more open. Can a nose job do that? Will appreciate an opinion regarding my case :) THANKS!
Answer: I'm interested in a subtle 'conservative' nose job and would like to research and consult. Any suggestion? Improving the nostril width and refining a bulbous tip are frequent requests of patients wanting nasal refinement. It is possible to improve the cosmetic appearance of the tip alone without altering the rest of the nose in some patients. Whether the optimal option in your particular situation would be a tip rhinoplasty alone or a full rhinoplasty would best be determined at a consultation. Either procedure can be performed with a closed or open approach. Following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla,California

CONTACT NOW Answer: I'm interested in a subtle 'conservative' nose job and would like to research and consult. Any suggestion? Hello AmitGoldberg,Thanks for your question. What you are asking for is known as finesse rhinoplasty. There are ways to improve your nose in the subtle ways you would like. While your nose won't look exactly as you pictured on the bottom picture, it can get very close to that look.A tip rhinoplasty can make the center more narrow. Wider nostrils are a bit more difficult to achieve depending on the starting anatomy. In any case, you would need to be seen in person for an exam.I would recommend that you consult with a rhinoplasty specialist, have pictures taken, and have rhinoplasty simulations performed to see what might be possible. From this information a surgical plan can be developed to help you.If you have any other questions, you are welcome to visit with us at my practice in Cherry Creek.Take care,Dr. Shah

Answer: Conservative rhinoplasty The nose is a three-dimensional structure, so a full set of facial photographs are required to make a determination about what can and cannot be accomplished. The bulbous tip can be reduced, the bridge line straightened, And the asymmetries improved. For many examples a rhinoplasty, please see the link below

Answer: Subtle rhinoplasty Subtle changes are definitely possible and often preferred in rhinoplasty so as to maintain and preserve the unique features of individual faces and noses. In terms of making the actual nostrils wider, this may be more difficult than it sounds, but if there are breathing issues internally, the airway could certainly be improved. A consultation with a plastic surgeon who does a lot of nasal surgery and who is expert in breathing and functional issues related to this surgery should be your first step. See attached link for more general rhinoplasty information. Good luck!

Answer: Subtle rhinoplasty You can certainly have the goal of subtle changes from your surgery, but realize the steps required to improve your breathing may be a touch more complex than you might assume. A thorough exam will help direct the specific needs, and photo imaging and discussion can help create a plan to maintain all the things you like while subtly changing those you would like to see changed.
