Will a chemical peel improve creapy skin on the neck or make it worse? What kind of peel would you recommend as I know this skin is delicate and thin. Would it be safer to do a series of light peels as opposed to a medium depth peel such as Skin Medica Viatalize?

Answer: Chemical Peel Thank you for your question. The laser refinishing technique is a type of chemical peel that may fit your health profile and aesthetic desires. Each chemical peel technique varies in strength and can be adjusted depending on your specific needs. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,

Answer: Skin Boosters Can Work Well For Crepey Neck Skin Because of the delicate nature of neck skin, and because of its greater propensity for scarring , a series of superficial chemical peels, such as with glycolic acid or Jessners solution or low strength TCA might be helpful. Having said that, I have found the use of skin boosters, such Restylane Skin Boosters, which I use for this purpose in my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers are available, or Belotero Balance, which I use in my Upper East Side Manhattan practice, to be extremely helpful for providing immediate tightening and smoothing of neck creypeyness (and crepey skin on the face and decollete, as well, for that matter). The material can be injected in microdroplets in a grid pattern or fanned through the area with a cannula. In most cases, the results are immediate and gratifying after just one treatment, although a second treatment may be required about four to six weeks later. The presence of the filler hydrates the skin from below, but also, due to its biostimulatory effects, increases new, native collagen and elastic fiber production (neocollagenesis, neoelastogenesis) for longer-lasting results. Best of luck to you.
