Strictly speaking, the only contraindications to Coolsculpting would be metal in the intended treatment area, cryoglobinemia and cold agglutinin disease. These are the ones mentioned specifically in any Coolsculpting training program. Having said that, at our office In Monroe, Mi, we are very cautious with any patients that have any sort of autoimmune disease because traditionally these patients do not react as expected with any sort of treatments because of their own body's tendency to attack itself. You would definitely need to seek the opinion of your provider that treats your Sjogrens and urticarial vasculitis first to be safe before even going for a Coolsculpting consult. Here is some information.
Thank you for your question. Based on your description, I would not recommend cool sculpting. Rather, you may want to look into regular liposuction to this area. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Best of luck!
While there is no reported cases of Coolsculpting and urticaria vasculitis, it is prudent to err on the side of caution. We recommend other treatment modalities at this time. Of course, always consult with your dermatologist and primary care doctor before undergoing a procedure like this.

Hi, CoolSculpting is usually a safe procedure, however there is a concern about increased risk of complications in patients with autoimmune diseases, more specific cold agglutinins. The cold treatment from cool sculpting may correlate to a high risk of hyperplasia or even necrosis. I would not recommend taking the risk is you have an autoimmune disorder - as Sjogrens can be associated with a small increased presence of cold agglutinins.

The great thing about Coolsculpting is that there really is no down time! I personally had Coolsculpting and I literally went back to work in minutes! There may be some bruising or swelling but that typically lasts only a few days when it does happen. You should be just fine...
