Thank you for your question and photo. While Botox targets an overactive muscle to weaken it and limit its movement, this injectable treatment is unlikely to reduce your chin’s size or make it appear less prominent. You may benefit from dermal fillers to create a more balanced facial shape overall, the results of which can last for up to a year or more. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified injector who can assess your concerns and suggest the best option for you.
Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend a combination approach with Thermage, Ultherapy, and Exilis. InMode FaceTite / AccuTite with VASER Neck Liposuction is the best option for contouring and tightening the chin, neck, and jawline area. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer"
Botox relaxed the muscles. It is most likely your chin will be the same size since the only area we treat on the chin is the mentalis muscles and the chin is formed by many muscles and fat pads that will be unaffected by botox. Botox can make your chin look slightly longer, but I do not think it will be significant.
Typically with a projected chin, one would need to consider surgical options for optimal results. Botox in the chin helps with dimpling / wrinkles and not so much reduction in size. If you notice that your chin bobs up and down when you speak, chin injections with botox will reduce this movement when speaking. Looking at the photo you posted however, I think your chin appears to be quite balanced with your lower face, however without seeing a full face profile it is hard to see the true proportions. If you are not interested in surgical options, consider finding an injector who does full facial balancing to reduce the focus of your chin - and balance it proportionally with the rest of your face utilizing dermal fillers.
Botox when used for the chin is to help with the orange peel or dimpled look that some experience due to muscle activity. It is not typically used to make the chin appear less prominent. I've included a video about neuromodulators that I hope you find helpful.
Neuromodulators (like Dysport or Botox) in the chin is best used and most successful for reducing the pull of the underlying mentalis muscle that can cause the appearance of a dimpled chin (golf ball chin). For a prominent projected chin, you really need to consider other treatments. Sometimes fillers can be placed AROUND the projection to help camouflage. But often surgery is needed for truly significant projection correction.
Hello and thank you for your question. We would always recommend a face to face consult however in this case botox will only reduce the movement of the mentalis muscle in the chin- the main aim to reduce the muscle contraction that can result in uneven skin texture and upward rotation of the chin. We hope that answers your question. Best wishes
Thank you for your question and photo. Botox treats an overactive muscle and limits its movement to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, while dermal fillers can address fine lines, bags, and discoloration under the eye. Fillers may be a favorable option in your case to restore volume in...
Hi, thank you for your question! Botox can help with asymmetry of the face. Botox would be a great start for you to help with the asymmetry of your eyes. I would place botox in between your eyebrows and also baby botox below the brows to help give a lift. I would place more botox on the right...
Necks respond beautifully to Botox; my toxin of choice is Jeaveau. I use it in two different ways. First, it's injected directly into the vertical bands or cords of the platysma muscle that stand out when you smile or shave. I use a different technique called MicroTox to get rid of the...
