Castor oil or coconut oil would not "hurt" but it is not used to treat hair loss.  If you are concerned ask your doctor.

The decision to start a medication is between you and your doctor after an examination and consultation.  Low self esteem is not a reason to start a medication.

This type of hair loss is extremely difficult to treat. It needs spironolactone, rogaine, and often injections or transplantation.  Please see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.
