I’m 7 months post-op from submuscular breast implants and had been healing without issues. About 2 weeks ago, I developed mild right shoulder soreness and got a deep tissue massage focused on my upper back. Two days later, I had sudden right breast pain, swelling, and firmness — the breast felt harder, higher, larger, and more uncomfortable. My surgeon diagnosed a pectoral spasm likely caused by overexertion from physical activity (intense workouts) and prescribed a Medrol dose pack, rest, and muscle relaxants. I initially improved a bit while on the Medrol, but symptoms have since returned and plateaued despite avoiding activity. Could this still be muscular, or should I be concerned about early capsular contracture or another implant-related complication?

As a board-certified plastic surgeon in Sarasota Florida specializing in breast augmentation, I frequently see patients considering larger implant sizes (such as 1000 cc) and wondering how this may impact their future breast-feeding ability.
The short answer is: It depends more on surgical...
Thanks for your question! Your current look is a great result. I would suggest not doing anything. The enemy of good is perfection and if you keep chasing it, you will end up with further problems. Best of luck!
Your cardiologist would have the last say on this, but the breast augmentation would probably not be affected by this as long as the implant was placed under the muscle.
