Question

When can I expect improvement. Using Vanicream HC, cold compresses, and got a steroid shot today. I’m just getting “it’s fine” from where it was done, but I just don’t buy it. They told me in 3 days everything would be better. Day 3 & 4 have been the worst. I wake up with massive swelling each morning! Please tell me this will soon resolve with simple remedies.

Thanks for your question and posting pictures.  When you first posted a couple of days ago, I suspected something.  With this latest round of pictures, it looks like the IPL triggered an HSV outbreak.  You have a cold sore.  The HSV virus can lie dormant for years.  I can be triggered by many things, including stress or an IPL/laser treatment.  You can purchase Abreva over the counter to help minimize the outbreak.  Prior to your next treatment, you should take Valtrex prophylactically.  I hope this helps.
