Thank you for your question. Retin-A can help a little by lessening the depth of the lines but will not be a dramatic result. What does help those lines is Botox. Botox works well on all upper face wrinkles from the forehead, glabella (between eyes), crow's feet, and bunny lines.

Retin-A is likely not going to the answer to your issue.  Retin-A works better for improvement of fine lines, and it takes 6-12 months of regular use to notice a difference.  The lines you are describing come from dynamic movement of the muscles.  The best way to soften them is to weaken the underlying muscle with Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin.  It works very fast and is easy to perform.  Make sure to see a board certified dermatologist, facial plastic surgeon, or ENT. 

These wrinkles are caused by loss of collagen in the skin from aging and sun damage and by action of the underlying muscles. Treatment requires multiple things. The fastest way is to treat the muscles with Botox to stop their function and a filler to elevate the major depressions. Starting Retin-A will build collagen in the dermis and improve the residual wrinkles over time. Make sure you see someone experienced in all these modalities.
